Welcome to the Oxford Spires website!
We hope that these pages show you some of our activities that we take part in, as part of Rotary International in Britain and Ireland (RIBI) and Rotary District 1090, and also as a small group of people who like to get involved in fun fundraising events and community events, supporting local, national and international charities and not-for-profit groups.
Our club members live all over Oxfordshire and beyond - from Abingdon, Witney, Oxford, Bicester and Towcester. Most of us work full time, and quite a few of us have young childen so we all appreciate that there's lots to balance in our lives. We therefore do our best to get the most out of and put as much as possible into our Rotary involvement, and we always make sure that the events that we take part in are fun.
We always welcome visitors to our meetings, particularly our meal meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month when we generally have dinner and then listen to a guest speaker. We meet at the Red Lion pub in Islip, just north of Oxford. Public transport isn't especially good, but if you contact us in advance then one of our club members may be able to give you a lift to the meeting.
Visit our new Pooh Sticks site where you will find details of the World Pooh Sticks Championships on Sunday 25th March 2012 at Day's Lock in Little Wittenham.

We meet at 8pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and at 7.30pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Red Lion in Islip.
The 2nd Tuesday is generally a business meeting and the 4th Tuesday is generally a less formal meeting (but longer hence the earlier start), with dinner, and followed by a guest speaker. Visitors are always welcome, but please contact us in advance, particularly if you wish to join us for dinner.
