Oxford Spires is one of Rotary’s younger and less formal clubs. Our style of meeting is relaxed and we are fortunate to have an equal mix of men and women in our membership, whose average age is under 40 (or at least we think we can just about still say that!).
We meet twice a month instead of weekly as some other clubs do. Generally, Rotary members come from a variety of professions and fields of work thus providing a rich resource of skills and expertise to apply to the programme of service activities throughout the year. Members are expected to attend a certain number of meetings and events each year but at Oxford Spires we believe that people live busy lives and have commitments with work and home life and should have the opportunity to offer what they can. For prospective members interested in joining us, we suggest you email the club in the first instance, using the contact form.
You are more than welcome to come along to any meeting or event and for those who wish to join Rotary, we recommend that you attend a couple of meetings and an event before applying to join. Applications for membership are submitted to the Club’s Council for consideration and if accepted, then you will be received into Membership usually at the next meeting.
 
Meetings
The first meeting held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month is a business meeting at which club activities are discussed and planned, and the second meeting held on the 4th Tuesday is a more sociable meal meeting, often followed with a presentation by a guest speaker.

We have a wide geographic spread of membership from near Princes Risborough to the East, Buckingham and Bicester to the North, across to Abingdon in the South and near Witney to the West, along with members more central to Oxford. See the About Us pages for more information on some of our members.
