As a small club we have to be careful about the number of projects with which we are involved. However we have been really lucky to get involved in some exciting projects, often through other Rotary clubs, over the last few years. We are always looking for new ideas, so if you think we could help your group, whether local, national or international, then please get in touch with us.

Our Projects

Our biggest recent project was the refurbishment of a kitchen and classrooms at a primary school near Moshi in Tanzania. The project was led by Peter Jones from Haddenham and District Rotary Club, and the Oxford Spires donation was one of a few donations used for a couple of projects at schools in the area. Naomi and Ruth from our club went out to help with the project in June 2009.
Since then we have given a donation to support the publication of some new text books, for lots of schools in the same area. This again was organised by Haddenham and District Rotary and they ............

In the autumn of 2010 Rotary clubs all over the country were planting crocus bulbs to raise awareness of the End Polio Now campaign. Spires members planted bulbs at three sites, with the help of children at Cholsey Primary School when we were on the school playing field.

We have supported Sinodun Rotary Club with one of their projects based in Uganda and linked to a Rotary club there, which has provided play areas and play equipment for children in deprived areas in Kampala District.
